The Next 24 Hours

We each have goals.  We need to be able to see the big picture of what these goals are.  We need to imagine the finish line.  The finish line may be a long way off, so, how do we get there, without being discouraged?  How do we keep going, when the finish line seems so far away?

We keep our eye on the finish line, but we divert our focus to today!  What can I do today that will help me get to this goal?  What can I accomplish in the next 24 hours to help get me to where I want to be?  Sometimes we struggle to get through a day.  When that happens, it can be discouraging.  We have to remember, that even baby steps, are steps, and will get us to that finish line, if we just keep going.

Start small.  Don't try to totally change your life in one day!  That's impossible.  It may also lead to burn-out, which can make us give up.  Eat one more healthier food.  Say "No" to a dessert.  Walk a few more steps than you usually do.  These things, as small as they may seem, are huge steps!  These steps help to build momentum!  Once we have momentum, we want to keep going!  If we keep going, we reach our goals!

So, what are you going to accomplish in the next 24 hours?

Always remember – YOU ARE AWESOME!  Go out and make it a great day!

Doubt Can Kill Your Dreams

Doubt kills more dreams that failure ever will.  All of us have dreams (or goals, if you want to look at them that way.)  As an example, we want to lose weight.  When you decided that you wanted to do this, did you doubt that you could do it?  Did you think that you could do it, and then have someone else tell you that you wouldn't be able to do it, therefore, making you doubt yourself?  How do you think that this will affect your attempt?  If you have a bad day, do you just throw in the towel, and tell yourself that you knew you couldn't do it? I fall into this category.  I want to run a mile, but I have caught myself doubting that I will ever be able to do it.  I have doubted my ability to do this for many years. I justify the doubt by telling myself that I'm just not a runner.  Well, I want to get past that.  I really want to be able to run a mile.  I know that to accomplish this, I will have to constantly tel...

Why Do You Want Me To Fail?

What happens when your significant other doesn't support you in your journey?  What happens when their words and actions hurt?  What happens when you feel like your friends don't support you, and want you to fail?  Do you think about quitting because it is just easier than dealing with the hurt, and lack of support?    What is wrong with people?  Friends and significant others are supposed to love you and support you, so why don't they?  People in general, (not all people, but many) are mean, selfish, and belittling to others.  They want to bring others down, and they work hard at doing this.  It makes some people feel bigger to bring others down.  When you are in this situation, it is hard to see.  The problem is not you!  The problem is them!  Some people are just miserable in their own lives, and they try to reflect it on other people, when they should be taking a good look at themselves...

Decisions! Decisions!

Every day, all of us have to make decisions - what to wear, where to go, what to do, what to eat, and probably many more decisions.  More often than not, I struggle with decisions.  Some days I go through 2-3 outfits before I make a decision.  I'm often involved in the conversation of "Where do you want to go?" "I don't know, where do you want to go?" I am an "over-thinker," and sometimes, I think that makes it even more difficult to make the decision.  There are times that I wish someone else would just make decisions for me! I just got back from vacation, and I had a very difficult time making decisions - food decisions.  A few years ago, my boyfriend and I went on vacation, and we were both on diets.  We went to this famous restaurant, and didn't want to cheat, so we didn't eat anything that we "shouldn't" eat.  That was over four years ago, and we still talk about how we will never do that again.  It bothere...
