Pay It Forward

To my loyal readers, and the readers who are reading for the first time, I want to tell you that you are all beautiful!  I hope this makes you feel good, because I mean it!  You all have so much to give back to the world!

Today, I want to focus on kind words, and making others feel good!

Someone gives you a compliment.  It makes you smile.  It makes you feel good!  Someone asks you what is wrong, when they can tell you feel down.  It makes you feel good, when others reach out!  Something as simple as a smile, a hello, or a kind word, can make someone's day.  It can bring a smile to their face - and you never know how badly that person may have needed that smile!

I hope that I have made you smile, and made you feel good.  I ask that today, to pay it forward.  Smile at someone.  Give them a compliment.  Cheer up someone who is sad!  Do a good deed!  Maybe together, we can start a long chain reaction!

Always remember – YOU ARE AWESOME!  Go out and make it a great day!

Why Do You Want Me To Fail?

What happens when your significant other doesn't support you in your journey?  What happens when their words and actions hurt?  What happens when you feel like your friends don't support you, and want you to fail?  Do you think about quitting because it is just easier than dealing with the hurt, and lack of support?    What is wrong with people?  Friends and significant others are supposed to love you and support you, so why don't they?  People in general, (not all people, but many) are mean, selfish, and belittling to others.  They want to bring others down, and they work hard at doing this.  It makes some people feel bigger to bring others down.  When you are in this situation, it is hard to see.  The problem is not you!  The problem is them!  Some people are just miserable in their own lives, and they try to reflect it on other people, when they should be taking a good look at themselves...

Negative v. Postive Self-Talk and Self-Esteem

Before I get into stories, and my point of view on this topic, I have a confession.  I am a work-in-progress when it comes to this.  Knowing, and practicing, are two very different things.  It takes personal growth, and I believe that I am slowly, but surely getting there. I believe that the majority of people are unhappy with themselves, for one reason for another.  We may feel fat, ugly, incompetent, lazy, or have any other of a million different ways.  I believe that we all can relate to some, or many of these feelings. My story is that I did look at myself in the mirror, and I saw myself as fat, ugly, and sometimes, pretty much worthless.  Sometimes I saw a total failure in that mirror.  When I would talk to myself, and to others, I would call myself those things, but also referred to myself as a fat cow, a hippo, a moose, or a manatee (a sea cow).  How's that for hating yourself and being negative?  How this affected my self-est...

Doubt Can Kill Your Dreams

Doubt kills more dreams that failure ever will.  All of us have dreams (or goals, if you want to look at them that way.)  As an example, we want to lose weight.  When you decided that you wanted to do this, did you doubt that you could do it?  Did you think that you could do it, and then have someone else tell you that you wouldn't be able to do it, therefore, making you doubt yourself?  How do you think that this will affect your attempt?  If you have a bad day, do you just throw in the towel, and tell yourself that you knew you couldn't do it? I fall into this category.  I want to run a mile, but I have caught myself doubting that I will ever be able to do it.  I have doubted my ability to do this for many years. I justify the doubt by telling myself that I'm just not a runner.  Well, I want to get past that.  I really want to be able to run a mile.  I know that to accomplish this, I will have to constantly tel...
